Morning comes quickly

Um, so, I start training for my delivery route tomorrow morning. Three days of training. They really take this seriously. Oh, and the training? I need to be there at 2:15. That's A.M. folks. In the morning. Before the bloody sun rises.

Shoot me.

Also? I'm not a napper. Or a person who can sleep late, despite being exhausted. So my feeble plan to sleep in this morning, or take a nap this afternoon? Yeah, no good. I planned ahead, I've been doing tons of yard work to tire myself out (oh, and to clean up the yard) and I am tired. Worn out, tired, but not sleepy. No sirree, wide awake here. And the more I laid there thinking that I have to get up at 1:30 in the morning and I had better take a nap and bettergotosleepRIGHTNOW!, the less asleep I was.

Also? I have blisters from raking the rest of last fall's leaves and planting some pretty flowers and arguing with Boy 1 that he will help rake for the love of Pete, welcome to the joys of owning a home. (why yes, arguing can give you blisters, didn't you know that?)

Evenings like this

Tonight I helped Boy 1 with his homework. I cuddled with Boy 2 while watching that show on Discovery Channel that shows how things work. I pestered Boy 1 with questions about his sex ed class today while prepping things to throw in the crockpot tomorrow morning. I tucked Boy 2 into bed and gave him his dreams.

All in all, a perfectly nice, normal evening. No fighting, no drama, no walking on eggshells to avoid setting off the temper.

This kind of evening makes me remember why I haven't sold the boys to the gypsies.
